Lakers-Magic Game 2 Preview

After last game’s performance, I’d be stupid to pick the Magic to win this series. Well, call me stupid but I think they have a great shot at this series.
For one, I think that Game 1 butt-whuppin’ that they got was exactly what they needed. The Magic were shooting the 3 so well that they got away from doing everything else they needed to do, mainly play defense.
They need to play defense first against this Lakers team, and then worry about their offense. They need to run the offense through …

Come Out Firing

The NBA Finals gets underway tonight. Everyone is talking about how the Magic are too relaxed. That they are just happy to be there. How Kobe will be a top 10 player all time if he can win this championship. It seems a little early to be writing off this Magic team doesn’t it?
Lets not forget who is playing better right now. The Magic came back in the series vs. the defending champions and knocked them out. They came into Cleveland who had only lost 2 games at home and …

Magic would be better off without Nelson

Jameer Nelson may be returning for the NBA Finals.
But if the Magic want to win against Kobe and the Lakers, I’d keep Nelson on the bench in a cheerleader role.
Now I know your next questions. Why keep an all-star point guard on the bench when he could make a huge impact in the biggest series for the Magic organization since 1995? Why keep a guy who has averaged 27 points per game against the Lakers off the court, when it could be the best thing for them.
Simple. He hasn’t played …

The Nuggets and Lakers tip off tonight in Denver. This series has been pretty even with the Lakers ‘winning’ more 4th quarters than the Nuggets, and that has been the difference in the series.
The Lakers, much like the Cavs, have shot horribly on offense. Outside of Kobe Bryant, they don’t have anyone who can hit consistent jump shots. And until Game 5, they decided  not to feed to their strength of their huge inside advantage.  The Nuggets start a 6′6″ center in Nene…I mean why wouldn’t you go down low?
The …

This has been the best stretch of playoff games I’ve seen in awhile. The games are competitive. Carmelo Anthony is turning into the superstar we thought he would. Even watching two teams (Orlando and Denver) that no one gave a shot at the beginning of the playoffs compete and win these games is great. One thing isn’t. Watching the officials completely debacle these already great playoff games.
Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals has been the best and most recent example of this. There were 86 free throws. …
