1. Memphis Grizzlies: Greg Monroe, F, Georgetown
Greg Monroe has the potential to be a special player in the NBA. He is a 6’11 Point Forward style of player, with the ability to spread the defense with his shooting range, and a strong ability to drive the basket to the hole at his size. He is an elite athlete, and is a similar player to a Chris Bosh or Kevin Garnett. He needs to polish his moves down low, add some strength, and have a little bit more consistent mid range shot, but most of that will come with another year at Georgetown.
2. Sacramento Kings: Ed Davis, F, UNC
Ed Davis was only a freshman last year, and was pretty unknown before the NCAA tourney, but he blew up his stock with a strong tourney showing. He floated his name out there as possibly entering the 09 NBA draft, but made the right choice by returning to school. He now will have a chance to polish a pretty raw offensive game, and get even better on the defensive side.
3. Milwaukee Bucks: John Wall, PG, Kentucky
The most overrated player in next years draft class, John Wall is a similar player to Rajon Rondo, in that his offensive game is very raw, but he has the speed and elite dribbling/handling abilities that he could blossom with a year in college into an elite player.
4. Utah Jazz (from New York): Derrick Favors, F, Georgia Tech
Derrick Favors will only be a freshman next season, so there is a good chance he returns to school, but if he decides to leave, he’s almost a surefire top 5 pick. Favors should be one of the top defensive big men in College next year, and has a good enough post game to be effective offensively.
5. Houston Rockets: Donatas Motiejunas, F/C, Lithuania
Motiejunas is a polished offensive player with range on his jumper. Big men like Motiejunas are hard to come by, so he should be a top 5 pick.
6. Golden State Warriors: Cole Aldrich, F/C, Kansas
Cole Aldrich is the kind of player that doesn’t wow you when you watch him play, but his fundamentals are very polished. With how in demand big men are in the NBA today, it’s no surprise we may see this many of them taken this early in the draft.
7. Oklahoma City Thunder (From Phoenix): Solomon Alabi, C, FSU
Alabi is another big man without much of an offensive game, but is very strong defensively. He is a fierce shot blocker, and can alter someone’s shot.
8. Indiana Pacers: Willie Warren, G, Oklahoma
Willie Warren is a good shooter that can play both the 1 and 2. His passing skills could use some work, as could his defense, but he will be drafted on potential and offensive game alone.
9. Minnesota Timberwolves: Al-Farouq Aminu, F, Wake Forest
Aminu is an athletic freak that is almost a surefire top 10 pick in the 2010 draft. He needs to improve upon his jump shot, but that will come with time.
10. Washington Wizards: Craig Brackins, F, Iowa State
Craig Brackins is a little overrated at this point, because he isn’t physical enough, and doesn’t have much of a post game, but with another year at Iowa State he should develop this at least a little more.
11. New Jersey Nets: Devin Ebanks, F, West Virginia
Ebanks is also an athletic freak, but he lacks strength and physical play at this point to be a top 10 pick. His jumper could also use work.
12. Charlotte Bobcats: Xaiver Henry, G, Kansas
A guy who is getting underrated a lot; Xaiver Henry is a physical player, with a good jump shot.
13. Oklahoma City Thunder: Gani Lawal, F, Georgia Tech
Gani Lawal is a physical banger type of player, and is similar to a DeJuan Blair without the injury problems.
14. L.A. Clippers: Evan Turner, G/F, Ohio State
Another overrated prospect, Evan Turner is a point forward type player who has shined so far at Ohio State. He can do it all, rebound, shoot, create shots, and drive to the rim, but he’s not a freak athletically like Aminu or Ebanks, but he is athletic enough to get the job done.
15. Philadelphia 76ers: Paul George, G/F, Fresno State
An under the radar player, Paul George is an athletic point forward with great vision. He can finish at the rim, and is a smart player. He also has a good jump shot that will only get better.
16. Minnesota Timberwolves (From Philadelphia via Utah): Damion James, F, Texas
An underachiever at Texas last season, Damion James needs to work on his jumper, and needs to work on his passing skills. He can finish nicely around the rim, and is a good rebounder.
17. Detroit Pistons: Patrick Patterson, F, Kentucky
Patterson will really benefit from another year at Kentucky, and should be a top 20 pick. He has a good jump shot, and a good post game that will only get better.
18. Chicago Bulls: Avery Bradley, G, Texas
A great shooter, one of the best in college, Bradley is also a great athlete. He is a physical and polished defender that could develop into a lock down defender.
19. Miami Heat: Larry Sanders, F/C, VCU
A big time shot blocking and rebound big man, Larry Sanders could be a top 20 pick next year if he works on his offensive game.
20. New Orleans Hornets: Luke Babbit, F, Nevada
A good shooter, with a crafty offensive game, Luke Babbit is a good matchup creating player. He does lack athleticism though, and that could be his short coming.
21. Toronto Raptors: Jarvis Varnado, F/C, Miss. State
The top shot blocker last year in college, Varnado will have a year to work on his weak and raw offensive game.
22. Atlanta Hawks: James Anderson, G, Oklahoma State
A very good shooter, Anderson could elevate himself into top 20 status with a good showing at OK State next year. He needs to become a better defender, and work on his slashing.
23. Portland Trailblazers: DeMarcus Cousins, F/C, Kentucky
A freshman to be next year, DeMarcus Cousins is a very strong player that uses his strength to push around players. He is a good defender, but he lacks athleticism, and has almost no post moves at this point.
24. New Jersey Nets (From Dallas): Jerome Jordan, C, Tulsa
A good shot blocker, with good size (7’0), Jerome Jordan is a player that will be drafted on his potential. He has little offensive game at this point.
25. Denver Nuggets: Tyler Smith, F, Tennessee
A point forward type player, Tyler Smith could improve his draft stock next year with the Vols. His shooting needs a lot of work.
26. Orlando Magic: Kemba Walker, G, UConn
A speedy point guard, Kemba Walker is a good instinctual player, who has a knack for rebounding. He lacks size, and his turnover prone, but another year at UConn should help this.
27. San Antonio Spurs: Michael Washington, F, Arkansas
A raw offensive player, Michael Washington is a strong lengthy player that will improve even more with another year at school.
28. Cleveland Cavaliers: Raymar Morgan, F, Michigan State
Was an underachiever last year with MSU, that did not have a good showing at the NCAA tourney, but another year with MSU, and he could reach his potential.
29. Memphis Grizzlies (From L.A.): Sherron Collins, G, Kansas
The leader of the Kansas team Sherron Collins is a good scoring guard. He is a solid athlete, but he lacks size, and isn’t a very polished passer.
30. Boston Celtics: Stanley Robinson, F, UConn
A great athlete with a good jump shot, Stanley Robinson had a good showing with UConn last season. Now that UConn has lost some of its top players, he should be able to shine next season with them.

I think the descriptions are also a little bland seeing as how the terms “polished” and “elite” get thrown around entirely too often in analyzing players. Good mock overall though.
Why would Monroe go first? thats a joke… hes done alot the last two year putting up GREAT numbers. ha
this is a joke of a mock draft. Hmm evan turner overrated… more like underated. He is a leader. athletic. tough and does it all. He will be a top 3 pick for sure if he enters the draft. He has the potential to be great.
andrew: this is a terrible mock as of now (late feb) but this apears to be older. However it is funny how bad this author did at projecting how players would do in college this year. He said Wall and Turner are overrated which is just plain stupid, even for last summer.
